Jemgine Editor Alpha
I've uploaded an alpha version of the Jemgine map editor [ DOWNLOAD ] I [might] have a group lined up who will be using Jemgine to make a game. And now I'm fishing for projects that want to use it. Everyone who uses it makes the product better by the very act of using it!
If you jump on board RIGHT NOW, this is what you get.
A 2d platformer engine with 'advanced physics'.
A feature-rich editor (That one up there!)
A single-player 'test game' to use as a base and guide for the engine.
My eternal love and support.
OKAY. No, the engine is not in that download. The dll for it is, so the editor can use it, but not the demo game or any of the source. But don't worry - that's coming soon, and a few people are poking at it already.
BUT, the editor can be a bit hard to figure out without some documentation. First, you're looking at a blank map. Press ctrl+e to create an entity. Now shift click on the box to select it. BAM, it's gold. That means it's selected. Now you'll find it's properties over in the dockable stuff that, by default, is on the right hand side.
If you press alt+space, the editor moves down a level. Now you can create physics polygons and sprite chunks attached to that entity. ctrl+space will move you back up to the top level.
If you move down into the entity level, and create a polygon, and select it, you can press alt+space to move down into the edit polygon mode. Click and drag a vertex to... drag it! Ctrl+click will add a vertex. Make sure the normals point out!
